Survey maker

Build a run of questions and ask them while everyone is in the room. You get answers from nearly everyone, in five minutes, instead of a handful trickling in over a fortnight.

Why emailed surveys don't come back

An email survey asks someone to give up their own time later, so mostly the very happy and the very annoyed reply. Asking the same questions while people are already sitting there gets you the middle of the room, which is where the useful answers live.

Answer this one

A rating scale, which is what most surveys are made of.

Live now47 responses

How useful was the last meeting you sat in?

What you can put in one

Six question types

Multiple choice, rating, ranking, open text, word cloud and quiz, in any order you like.

Answered in the session

You control when each question appears, so the room moves through it together.

Nothing is attributed

No name travels with an answer, which is why people tell you the real thing.

Export it afterwards

Download every answer as a CSV and put it wherever you keep the rest. CSV export is part of the paid plan.

A survey that takes five minutes

Four questions, in an order that builds.

  1. Step 1Rating

    How useful was today?

Start with the easy number. It costs one tap and gets almost everyone answering.

  2. Step 2Multiple choice

    Which part was most useful?

    • The walkthrough
    • The examples
    • The questions
    • The discussion

Now the number has something behind it. This is the answer you can act on.

  3. Step 3Ranking

Put these in the order you'd want them next time.

    • More practice
    • More examples
    • More discussion
    • Shorter session

Ranking beats picking one, because it tells you what people would drop as well as what they want.

  4. Step 4Open text

    Anything we should change?

Last, and open. By now people have warmed up enough to write something specific.

Getting answers worth having

Keep it under six questions

People answer the first four properly and click through the rest.

Ask while they're still there

Two minutes before the end beats an email the next morning by a wide margin.

Show a result as you go

Putting one answer on screen proves you are reading them, and the next question gets a better response.

Build your first survey

Write the questions once and run it with every group.
